Acadia National Park- Bar Harbor Maine (Part 1)

Sept. 16-20, 2009

On our first bid day at Acadia, we set off on a hike recommended by Dale. As it turns out, this was NOT the hike for us. We're a bit afraid of heights and had no idea that we would be climbing up boulders, shimmying along a cliffside and facing some old wire rung ladders up it's face. Yeah, we went almost all the way before we had enough and turned back. Wimps, I know, but we tried something more low key later on. ;)

A classic view of the park

A scary climb, but some great views!

The "path"

How sturdy does this look, ah!

Fake smile

A little happier to be heading down here

A nice picnic spot to decompress

More looking around the park

Hike #2 tomorrow - too many good pictures to squeeze into one post. :)
