Our big trip of the year (outside of those for work or with family ;) ) took us to Boston, Mass.! We were invited to Dale (a HS friend of Andy's) and Casey's wedding in Maine the following week, and used that as the perfect excuse to have a vacation! We flew into Boston and spent a few days there before road tripping up to Maine.
Boston was a first for both of us and definitely worth those extra days!! A great city with so much history, great architecture and seafood. All the founding fathers, brick and crab we could handle! :)
With only a couple days to take it all in, we walked the Freedom Trail for an easy, self-guided tour all over the city. Here are a few highlights:
Massachusetts State House
Following the red brick road... or red spray paint. ;)
I'm not quite sure what's going on here, but these guys were taking a drink break, so I did my tourist job and got this odd photo outside the Old State House.
Wagamama - I didn't know when we would meet again!! So happy to find our favorite noodle restaurant in the heart of Boston!
Over the bridge
The Old North End... loved it! Tons of brick and culture.
A cool neighborhood street
And another
Here's cute doorstep in Beacon Hill
Old South Church
We had drinks & apps. at this place on Newbury Street (after some wandering and shopping)
El cheapo lobster dinner in a smokehouse bar - with a football crowd cheering on the Patriots... strange, but fun!
I have way too many photos to share in just one post, so I'm going to save Cambridge until tomorrow. Stay tuned!
