We split the Christmas holidays between Joplin and Meade this year and Joplin was up first. We arrived a few days early and planned to drive to Meade on Christmas day, but got too much snow to make the trip. Here are a few pictures of the snow and the family opening presents.
Handmade gifts by Rachelle for...
Jessica
and Tricia (This was a jacket that my grandma made for her when she was in high school, then Rachelle re-made it with these great patterns. Pretty awesome!)
And the funniest gifts of the day... I got my Grandma these recloseable bag things that I thought were really handy. To show her how they worked, I got a few bags of things to demo them on, as part of the gift. One was a huge bag of beans - because I know how much she likes to make ham and beans. She LOVED it (the beans... and knew exactly why I picked them ;)!
Then, oddly enough, my mom had a leftover hambone that she had decided to take to my Grandma - for the very same reason! So, seeing as it was Christmas, she wrapped it up as a gift and stuck it under the tree. She opened it next...
Earlier in the day she had even mentioned how she "just wanted the hambone" from a ham that someone had made... little did she know! What a thrill from the cheapest gift, haha!

Close Tricia... I think that's a neck warmer
Then, MORE exciting handmade gifts - original paintings by Tricia for everyone!
