My mom, sister and I went down to Eureka Springs, Arkansas for Mother's day this year. We had a nice drive down, checked into our old boutique hotel then went out to explore. Downtown Eureka Springs is full of old buildings filled with cute little stores, antique shops and art galleries. I guess it's a bit of an old hippie town and has a really relaxed feel and lots of character. There are also lots of elaborately painted houses with Victorian detailing.
The next morning we started with massages at the spa in our hotel... which were great! Then we hit the streets for shopping and browsing. We all got some interesting jewelry and I got some decorations for the new townhouse. After lunch at a little cafe and some last minute shopping (oh, and snow cones) we made the 2 hour drive back to Joplin.
