Beach BBQs

Things have been busy since we've been back in Auckland! Andy and I are working 50+ hours a week to catch up at work (and pump up our bank accounts) after so much time away. Not to worry though, we're not about to waste away "the best summer in 20 years" (according to Chas) and have been taking advantage of the sunshine and warm weather by BBQing at the beach.

Chas, Diane and Brad grabbed us a day or so after we got back from our trip and took us to nearby Cheltenham for drinks and dinner grilled on the beach. Unfortunately, even though Chas had checked the weather before hand, the wind changed directions and nearly blew us away. We still had a good time though!

A few weeks later we planned a picnic with friends and met up at Long Bay on the North Shore for a day of swimming, lounging and eating. The water was really nice and the boys entertained themselves by throwing various toys around. Andy and I also put our little grill and new cooler to good use again!

After such a successful outing, we had to do it again this past weekend. This one didn't quite classify as a "beach" BBQ, but we did hang out by the lake before moving to Bryan and Margaret's. We made salsa (our usual), Bryan grilled and we had a nice relaxing evening chatting with friends.
