One last look at our summer vacation to Pagosa Springs! We all piled in the car and drove up and over Wolf Creek Pass to find the perfect picnic spot. The first one wasn't ideal (with Kansas style wind), so we carried on to campground not far from the road. It was along the river and a nice spot to eat, fish and even make smores.
Finally some people pictures. :)
Smores time
Pretty bird
The drive back over the pass
During my time watching the boys fish, I wandered around and found some great flowers... here are a few...
Columbines (in many colors...)

Pagosa Springs, Colorado - Part 2
June 12-21, 2010
There are SO many fishing pictures from this trip, I had to split them up! Here is a look at the hike Eric, Andy and I took through a canyon and along the Piedra River. Of course, the purpose of this hike was to fish, which meant I hung out on the banks snapping photos.
But first the drive..
While the boys geared up, I had to go take this picture. For some reason I found it hilarious that a group of cows was huddled under a tiny, and oddly flat, tree. They were moving on by the time I got there, but you get the idea. :)
Here's the view as we started up the path
A little deja vu with a spot where I took quite a few photos last year
And, finally in the water
Catch #1 of many!
And one for Eric!
Did I mention I spent a lot of time on the bank? I thought this baby tree and old stump, side-by-side, were a nice pair. :)
Here was Andy's brilliant attempt to take me across the river... not actually the best plan...
Another catch
One more post coming up of another outing!

Pagosa Springs, Colorado - Part 1
June 12-21, 2010
Finally summer and time for some vacations! First up was another trip to Pagosa Springs, Colorado with Andy's family. They have a time share there, so we had a great place to stay and were close to plenty of good fishing spots. Here's a look at what we saw out our window each morning...
We stayed in these funny looking condos, but had a view of the mountains and, near-daily, balloon fly overs.
A view of the hot springs in the middle of Pagosa:
One of the steamy, bubbling, fountains
Andy and Eric's first day of fishing was close-by, on the river that runs through town. It was a compromise for the rest of us, but I think it worked out ok for them too. ;)
Steve and I found a path down to the water, so that we could get closer and watch them fish by us. We were literally standing in the bushes, balancing on logs waiting to say hi and snap some pictures. Now that's dedication!
A slight interruption from the rafters that share the river. :)
We had a nice view from the decks up on the banks.
Part 2 is next... hiking & fishing on the Piedra River!
